WordPress Security Alert - Update plugins and themes

<p>Wordpress cybersecurity firms have reported of an increasing number of attacks on WordPress sites. The new forms of attacks have been focused on WordPress **plugins**. Many of the attacks exploit bugs which have only been recently patched or fixed by the plugin developers.</p> <p>This means if you are using outdated plugins, it is possible for hackers to hijack your website and in some cases, wipe out your website content.</p> <p>As reported by <a href="https://www.zdnet.com/article/hackers-are-actively-exploiting-zero-days-in-several-wordpress-plugins/" title="WordPress attacks">ZDnet</a>, some of the attacks are a bit more sophisticated and may not be detected by security tools.</p> <p>Below are some of the known plugins that are being exploited although they are not the only plugins since it is likely that there are more:</p>

New Reseller Packages

We have striven to provide high quality professional hosting services while endeavouring to keep our prices low.</p> <p>As you are already aware, CPanel has been included with all our reseller packages till now at no additional cost. In addition, we did not place limits on the number of accounts that a reseller can create. This was due to the fact that cPanel only offered a single license per server. As a result, we did not have to pay extra and we could pass it down to you as a reseller.</p> <p>As you were informed in our previous email, this is no longer going to be the case with the announcement by cPanel of their new pricing model which takes effect 1st September, 2019.</p> <p>With the new pricing model, there is going to be a charge per each cpanel account whether the account is active or not. Taking only the license fee into account, the fees we are charging for the reseller package alone will not be able to cover the cost of licenses considering the fact that we do not limit the number of accounts that can be created per reseller package.</p> <p>We therefore wish to officially inform you that we are discontinuing our current reseller packages. We are introducing new packages that have limits on the number of cpanel accounts that can be created. We are allowing till 25th August, 2019 for you to decide whether you would like to migrate to a new package. Please submit a ticket via your client dashboard to let us know if you wish to be migrated to one of the new packages. We are also investigating other alternative control panels.</p> <p>All active reseller packages that have long subscription periods will be migrated automatically to the closest package that fits the number of cpanel accounts the reseller has. In such cases, the next billing period will attract the new fee associated with the reseller package. Announced cPanel Price Increase

<p>On 27th June, 2019 <a title="Cpanel announcement" href="https://blog.cpanel.com/announcing-account-based-pricing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cPanel announced</a> a massive price increase in the cost of cPanel license starting 1st September, 2019 that took the web hosting industry by surprise. In addition to the price increase, they have also changed their pricing model.</p> <p>Previously, it was possible to purchase a single license and assign it to a server but they will be changing to a new license pricing which is based on the number of cpanel accounts hosted on a server.</p> <p><strong>What are the implications?</strong></p> <p>With the previous licensing model, we were paying for a single license which enabled us to invest in additional hardware and other productivity and security tools that makes a comfortable and sound hosting experience. This way, we were able to reduce our operation costs and extend this to offering low cost prices in our product offerings.</p> <p>However, with the new Account based cpanel licensing, our cost of operations will be increasing by more that 100%, with the cost of cPanel licenses contributing the major part of our operation costs.</p> <p>If we continue with our current prices and offerrings, coupled with the current state of the dollar-cedis exchange rate, it will not be sustainable for us to continue and remain in operation.</p> <p>As a result, we are informing you that we will be making changes and restructuring our packages. Further information will be sent in the next few days.</p>
